ECFMG is seeking a Process Improvement Specialist in the Philadelphia, PA office.

The Process Improvement Specialist is a key resource within the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and Change Management team.  As a primary SME in the space of process optimization they will be responsible of a wide array of activities within the process improvement and process management lifecycle at ECFMG.  ECFMG uses a hybrid model of industry best practices such as Lean Six Sigma, COBIT, and internally developed methodologies based on the unique needs of our business.  Work will focus on creation and improvement of processes to optimize current business functions, in support of active projects, and strategic initiatives. S/he will lead teams partnering with subject matter experts in all departments.  S/he must be capable of independently leading the enterprise through the engineering/re-engineering process using multiple industry standard methods, driving to decisions, removing roadblocks, and ultimately operationalizing new processes. 

The Process Improvement Specialist is expected to work using industry standard tools to document, visualize, and communicate active initiatives to a wide range of internal stakeholders.   


  • Minimum 5 years' experience in business process improvement using industry standard frameworks such as Lean Six Sigma, COBIT, or other frameworks. 
  • Experience designing and implementing processes and procedures across a variety of functional areas. 
  • Experience working on complex projects and managing deliverables across multiple initiatives. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Power Point, Excel, Word, Visio, Project).
  • Understanding and experience delivering solutions through Scrum, Agile, and traditional software development lifecycles (SDLC)
  • Experience with Kaizen improvement events and activities.


  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Six-Sigma Green Belt or Yellow Belt highly desired


  • Strong analytical skills, including critical thinking and problem solving
  • Must excel in strategic thinking, strategy development, and decision making
  • Proven process improvement experience and the ability to manage change/expectations
  • Skilled at creating policy and process material
  • Skilled in the development and maintenance of process flow diagrams
  • Excellent writing and reporting skills to transform the conversations and the current working procedures into a documented business process.
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean, or other Quality Management System and associated tools (process mapping, VSM, PDCA, A3 and other tools)
  • Experience working with a variety of technology infrastructures with the ability to recommend and document improvement; leveraging appropriate standards from (for example NIST Cybersecurity Framework) and comfortable working in hybrid frameworks - taking the best of multiple methodologies
  • Experience developing baseline measurements and critical success factor indicators
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Quality assurance capabilities to ensure adherence to standards
  • Well-developed organizational skills, solid follow through, and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective presentation skills, with the ability to represent information with accuracy and relevance
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Experience creating end-to-end process maps of all key processes, heat mapping quality and efficiency improvement opportunities
  • Excellent computer skills, including a proficient knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and basic understanding of technology infrastructure
  • Ability to work independently without need for extensive direction
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to work well with people from many different disciplines and varying degrees of technical aptitude
  • Adaptability and flexibility including ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity and change
  • Ability to advise on complex matters to non-specialists; ability to communicate effectively with senior management
  • Ability to plan and facilitate meetings
  • Knowledge of company's industry area preferred


In collaboration with and/or under the direction of EPMO Leadership:

Process Improvement

  • Analyze, process and re-engineer requirements as they apply to the current and future environments, both technological and non-technological
  • Implement improvement strategies agreed upon by leadership, measure process improvement benefits after changes are implemented, and ensure desired outcomes are achieved
  • Work closely with business units to ensure follow through on improvements and adherence to new procedures.
  • Use change management methodologies to ensure reinforcement

Design, implement, control and optimize process improvements as directed by the EPMO. Partner with EPMO and leadership to help identify and improve on current state processes within the enterprise Provide direct support to EPMO Process Improvement Initiatives Conduct internal review to ensure compliance to policies, procedures, controls and standards Conducts evaluations to find inefficient processes and programs, identify opportunities for improvements Establish KPIs and analyze Effectively and cooperatively deploy LEAN & Continuous Improvement methods into the organization


  1. Clearly documents processes and procedures for a variety of distribution across the enterprise.
  2. Facilitate workshops and discussions to uncover areas for improvement, and drive business value by providing the structure and support for teams to make improvements
  3. Create training materials aligned to all process improvement initiatives. Partner with training team to design and in some cases, deliver the training to end users
  4. Develop high-level, end-to-end process landscape models to communicate interim observations and recommendations
  5. Develop and maintain tools such as process maps for project and process improvement efforts
