ECFMG is seeking a Systems Engineer II in the Philadelphia, PA office. 

The System Engineer II evaluates and recommends the use of new technologies, performs analysis across the enterprise infrastructure in conjunction with Senior and Principal System Engineers. The role is responsible for working with team members inside and outside of the organization to gather requirements, interacting as a liaison between business and IS teams to support projects, planning, and policy enforcement. The System Engineer II assists in documenting and supporting the development of core infrastructure topology, processes, and standards as well as identifying potential new products or business opportunities. This role is responsible for, installing, configuring, maintaining and repairing of server infrastructure and application components. System Engineer II performs a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, installation and training tasks to ensure the environment is optimized to meet company and user needs.


  1. In-depth knowledge of a network, PC, and server operating systems and experience in wide range of technologies including hybrid environments, virtualization, cloud architecture and design.
  2. Hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft Windows Servers, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure.
  3. Experience and knowledge of Data Center environments and tiering.
  4. Familiarity and technical knowledge of Hyperconverged technologies.
  5. Exposure to implementations of migrating from on-premise environments to cloud-based models.
  6. Demonstrated expertise with current technology trends.
  7. Strong, positive customer service attitude while interacting with internal and external contacts.
  8. Detail--oriented, flexible, and can adjust to changes in scope and timelines.
  9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.



  1. Supports the daily operations for on-prem and cloud-based infrastructure components, consistently ensuring the integrity of host devices, databases and secure data transfers across the Enterprise
  2. Works closely with senior level engineers on deployments and maintenance delivery services.
  3. Responsible for identifying and remediating critical and security vulnerabilities for servers and other resource components.
  4. Participates in troubleshooting procedures and contributes to design resolutions and execution of scripts.
  5. Part of a team that plans and implements new technologies as well as improving the efficiency of existing technologies.


  1. Maintains and increases knowledge of ECFMG IS core infrastructure components.
  2. Evaluates new products and contributes to the development of technical standards.


  1. Participates in enterprise-wide assignments. Shares knowledge with fellow team members.
  2. Works on projects/issues of complexity that require solid knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments.

General Support

  1. Participates in enterprise-wide on-call rotation.
  2. Maintains current knowledge of industry trends, future technologies and client issues that may impact technical implementation strategies and direction.
  3. Understand and comply with all enterprise and IS departmental information security policies, procedures, and standards.
  4. Support the integration of information security standards in development, design, and implementation of ECFMG infrastructure architectures and framework.


  1. Provide direction or participate in troubleshooting of complex incidents, managing support tickets for incidents and requests effectively and efficiently.
  2. Participates and provides feedback to improve ECFMG business and IS processes including but not limited to, workflow, project management, time accounts, and employee reviews.
  3. Works with Principal System Engineering as a mentee, developing hard technical skills as well as soft skills.


  1. 3-5 years in technology services serving as a Server Administrator, Systems Engineer, Sr. IT Support Services Specialist, or similar with experience in the following.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft technologies such as Windows 10, Windows Server 2016, Active Directory, Group Policy Administration, DHCP, DNS.
  3. Hands-on experience administering Microsoft products both on-prem and O365.
  4. Hands-on experience supporting hybrid and cloud-based compute and storage solutions (Azure preferred)
  5. Experience with reading and creating documentation for both technical and non-technical use.
  6. Knowledge and experience in a wide range of technologies including proficiency in supporting virtualized and non-virtualized desktop and server systems (Hyper-V a plus).
  7. Experience working both independently and in a team environment.
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members, management, customers and support personnel.
  9. Ability to analyze and solve complex problems using analytical and creative problem-solving skills for design, creation, and testing of networks.
  10. An ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  11. Organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a high pace environment.


  1. Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. The equivalent in related work experience and self-study may be substituted.
  2. Professional certifications spanning multiple disciplines such as Microsoft MCSE, Red Hat, CompTIA, Oracle, VMWare, or similar are a plus.
