ECFMG is seeking a Network Engineer I in the Philadelphia, PA office.

The Network Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining and repairing of network infrastructure and application components. A Network Engineer performs a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, installation and training tasks to ensure the computer network performance meets company and user satisfaction. A Network Engineer also provides direction, information, and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations.

SKILLS

  1. Knowledge and experience in wide range of technologies including routing and switching design and architecture.
  2. Experience and knowledge of Data Center and high availability environments (HSRP, VRRP).
  3. Knowledge of switching, including but not limited to: CGMP, IGMP, 802.xx, Gigabit Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, VLAN/Trunking (802.1q), Etherchannel, Spanning Tree (STP), HSRP, VRRP.
  4. Knowledge of IPv4 routing protocols (RIPv2, OSPF, BGP), along with their control plane dynamics, QoS and rate limiting, IP addressing and subnetting, Ethernet standards and 10GigE Ethernet technology.
  5. Knowledge of network security systems and protocols including firewalls, Radius and TACACS+, IPSEC and IKE, SSH, etc.
  6. Knowledge in or desire to learn ancillary technologies used to support enterprise network monitoring and management such as fault/performance management and metric gathering tools/technology (SNMP, Netflow), packet capturing tools, and automation tools.

DUTIES

Operations

  1. Part of a team that plans and implements new network technologies as well as improving the efficiency of current networks.
  2. Participates in network architecture design and engineering.
  3. Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including switches, routers, and firewalls.
  4. Maintains wireless networking infrastructure, maximizing network performance through monitoring and troubleshooting.
  5. Ensure that all cabling installation meets industry standards.
  6. Evaluates new products and develops technical standards.

Processes

  1. Identifies opportunities for improving service delivery, developing new network troubleshooting procedures and designs resolutions when necessary.
  2. Proactively conducts research on emerging technologies and standards in support of system software procurement and development efforts.
  3. Understand and comply with all enterprise and IS departmental information security policies, procedures, and standards.

Projects

  1. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned by Manager, IS Operations

General Support

  1. Participates in enterprise-wide on-call rotation
  2. Increases knowledge of ECFMG IS network systems, industry trends, future technologies, and client issues that may impact network strategies and direction.
  3. Maintains level knowledge of areas of responsibility through ongoing training and education, continuously pursuing self-advancement on improving technical acumen.
  4. Functions independently to effectively overcome roadblocks in efforts of reaching technology and business goals.

EXPERIENCE

  1. 1-3 years of experience in networks, LAN/WAN or management information systems.
  2. 1-3 years of experience in Data Networking and TCP/IP protocols
  3. Experience in supporting VoIP solutions including enterprise applications.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members, management, customers and support personnel.
  5. Strong ability to analyze and solve complex problems using analytical and creative problem-solving skills for design, creation, and testing of networks.
  6. An ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  7. Familiarity with VPN protocols such as IPSec, L2TP, PPTP, etc.
  8. Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

EDUCATION

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. The equivalent in related work experience and self-study may be substituted.
  2. Professional certifications such as Security+, CCNA, CCNP, etc. are a plus.
