ECFMG is currently recruiting for a Senior Control Room Operator/Administrator on Duty for the Houston CSEC office. The basic job functions of the Senior Control Room Operator/Administrator on Duty is to serve as the Control Room Operator for USMLE Step 2 CS administrations on a regular basis. The CRO will act as a liaison to the MIS department to troubleshoot computer issues, and perform minor equipment repairs as needed. Additionally, the CRO will serve as a backup for the Proctor position, and will assist in hallway coverage as needed.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as a Control Room Operator (operates video tracking system; sets up audiovisual system in the Control Room
    • Acts as primary exam contact for all Clinical Skills Evaluation Center personnel, follow appropriate protocols and maintains confidentiality in communication SP Exam issues. 
  • Serve as AOD 
    • Ensure proper distribution and reconciliation of all exam related materials.
    • Oversees physical plant throughout CS Step 2 Administration, including equipment and exam rooms.
    • Interacts with examinees on issues including scheduling issues occurring on day of exam, examinee complaints, examinee illness and irregular behavior by an examinee as outlined by USMLE policies and procedures.
  • Backup the Proctor position as needed and assist in hallway coverage as needed. 
    • Assist examinees with routine questions and requests
    • Assists the Control Room Staff, SP Trainer, and the Administrator on Duty

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 months audio/video training, or relevant work experience required
  • Prior supervisory experience helpful
  • Multitasking operations 
  • Working in high stress situations

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent in relevant work experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to watch video monitors and change camera positions simultaneously
  • Ability to problem solve quickly in a technical manner
  • Attention to detail
  • Learn other software related to the job
  • Work autonomously
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
